Take QuizTwo-time Olympia winner Mamdouh Elssbiay AKA "Big Ramy", showed off his current physique on Instagram over the weekend. Big Ramy is considered a mass monster with the amount of weight in muscle his frame holds.
The physique update he posted showed some tremendous gains from where he was last year. Big Ramy also said he’d be guest posing at the 2022 Pittsburgh Pro next month. Check out his gains below!
Big Ramy doesn’t appear on social media frequently, so when we get a glimpse of his updates, the industry goes crazy. Big Ramy is coming off consecutive Men’s Open Olympia wins in 2020 and 2021, where he beat out former champ Brandon Curry.
Big Ramy has caught a lot of flak from fans and industry people for not connecting with the bodybuilding world online often. Last time we saw an update from Big Ramy was back in January.
In Ramy’s update, we can see some noticeable changes in his physique. At around 340+ pounds, Big Ramy is putting on muscle in all the right places. His conditioning and tight waist look on point for being in the offseason.
Working with Chad Nichols has definitely done Big Ramy well. In the caption on his post, Ramy talks about the challenge of bodybuilding during Ramadan, but he makes it clear that he’s coming for his third Olympia this year. Ramy also mentioned that we could expect to see him guest pose at the 2022 Pittsburgh Pro; we’re looking forward to that!
Some of the highlights in Big Ramy’s physique update include a fuller chest, bigger triceps, and massive brachialis. Plus, his rear delts, rhomboids, and teres muscles are giving him a crazy 3D look; once he’s stage-ready, this will look even more impressive.
Big Ramy will have his work cut out for him this year if he wants to win his third title. First, he has to contend with Nick Walker, who’s looking absolutely massive these days. Brandon Curry will also be a top contender as he came in second the past two years.
Not far behind these guys are Hadi Choopan, who placed third in last year’s Olympia, as well as Hunter Labrada, who came in fourth. All these giants will have to be at their absolute best if they want to go home with the title.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Big Ramy is looking fantastic in his current update, and at this rate, it will be hard to take the title from him in December when the 2022 Olympia comes to Las Vegas. Stay tuned for Big Ramy’s appearance at the 2022 Pittsburgh Pro on May 7th!
