Want your perfect workout program?
Take QuizBrian Shaw has been a busy man in and outside of the gym. He has recently announced that the 2022 Shaw Classic will be held from August 13th-14th at the Budweiser Event Center in Loveland, Colorado.
This is the third annual installment of the competition that will start each day at 1 pm. For those interested in going, tickets are currently available here; pricing ranges from $90-600 depending on what package you pick. According to Brian's website, for those who can't attend but would still like to watch, if you sign up for his membership club, you can watch an edited version of the game 24 hours after it is filmed.
The Shaw Classic will also feature an "Open" division for both men and women as a way of qualifying for next year's competition. The man who wins the open division will be invited to compete in the 2023 competition. There are no qualifications to compete, other than you have to be a strong man/woman. Currently, there has been no information on how to sign up for the "Open" division, but it should be explained soon. We will keep you posted as it's announced.
Brian also recently released the lineup for the Shaw Classic, which includes some of the biggest names in the Strongman world.
While Brian has recently released a lineup for the 2022 athletes, he also has confirmed that he is still waiting on some names to affirm their spots. So in the meantime, to get a better idea of what to expect, let's dive into some of these athletes.
Tom is a British strongman from Scotland and is currently the World's Strongest Man, becoming the first-ever Scot to win in 2021. He is the younger brother of Luke Stoltman.
Luke is the five-time winner of Scotland's Strongest Man and won Europe's Strongest Man in 2021. Luke and his brother are a force to be reckoned with; definitely keep an eye out for them.
You can't have a Shaw Classic without the man himself. For those who don't know, Brian Shaw is an American Pro Strongman who has four World Strongest Man titles under his belt. He is also the first man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and WSM contests in the same year.
As a World's Strongest Man competitor Jerry has been around the block. He is a multiple-time finalist in WSM and won America's Strongest Man competition in 2017.
The strongman from Canada has an impressive resume including placing 3rd in the last Shaw Classic. Caron won Canada's Strongest Man 9 consecutive times from 2011-2019. Let's see what he can do this year!
Most of the men on this list have experience as pro strongmen; Trey is no exception. He was the 2021 Shaw Classic Champion, and he is looking to return this year to defend his title.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
