When you think of LA, you think of glitz, glam, and exclusivity, and Equinox provides a luxury experience fitting those expectations. Offering high-end amenities not seen at most other gyms, such as a full-service spa, steam rooms, outdoor pool, and eucalyptus-scented towels. Offering personal trainers, boutique-style group fitness classes, and state-of-the-art equipment, Equinox is the kind of gym you go to for a premier fitness and recovery experience.

Anyone whois anyone knows about this gym. You’re not going to get the amenities at Equinox, but what you will get is the atmosphere of the most well-known bodybuilding gyms in the country. A backdrop of the 1977 film “Pumping Iron”, Arnold Schwarzenegger helped make this gym the standout that it continues to be today. As a bonus, you’ll also be able to use the famous outdoor section, and might even get to rub shoulders with some IFBB pros.

If you want a gym that’s truly exclusive, look no further than Unbreakable. The brainchild of Jay Glazer, Unbreakable isn’t open to the public, and you need to apply to even get in the door. But if you’re one of the lucky ones that gets approved, don’t be surprised if you’re working out next to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to NFL players. Don’t expect to walk into a standard gym, you’re not going to find wall-to-wall cardio machines or endless racks of dumbbells. The training you get here is going to keep you on your toes, and when that’s done, cryotherapy and physical therapy await to help with recovery. Be fair-warned, even if you get in, it comes at a premium.

Multiple classes are offered every day, and many of the other CrossFit gyms you see in LA were started by members branching off from this gym. The coaching staff is knowledgable and all levels of fitness are welcome.

The studio is candlelit, heated, and prides itself on a non-judgmental space for all levels of practitioners. It’s perfect for anyone looking to combine mindfulness with a little edge in their workout.

With several locations around LA and an affordable price tag, there’s no way we couldn’t include Speakeasy Fitness. Offering group classes, saunas, steam rooms, a pool, jacuzzi, basketball courts, juice bars, and a cardio cinema (amenities do vary by location), Speakeasy provides options that are usually reserved for higher-priced gyms. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the unique lighting that Speakeasy has going on in their gyms. Check out their website to see what I’m talking about.
