Take QuizThis weekend of June 17-19th played host to some big bodybuilding shows including the 2022 Puerto Rico Pro. This contest was held in San Juan Puerto Rico with multiple divisions vying for a chance to win an invitation to the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
Let’s look at the results from the 2022 Puerto Rico Pro below!
This show consisted of bodybuilders competing across a range of divisions including Men’s Open, Men’s 212, Men’s Physique, Classic Physique, Women's Bodybuilding, Women’s Physique, Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Wellness.
The winners in each division punched their ticket to compete at the 2022 Olympia which is set to take place from December 16-18th in Las Vegas.
This division is one of the most hotly contested in the sport and I was Egypt’s Hassan Mostafa who ended up winning the title. At this same event last year he placed 3rd so this was a step in the right direction for Mostafa. In the 2021 Olympia He placed 13th so it will be interesting to see if he can improve his showing this year.
Many would consider this division to result in an upset when Oswaldo Gonzalez took the title after narrowly beating out Bo Lewis. This is arguably the biggest win in Oswaldo’s career but he earned it after coming in with a super peeled physique.
Clarence McSpadden walked away from the contest with a huge win. He competed in last year’s Olympia securing 16th place so we know he’s out for redemption this time around, let’s see if he can finish higher later this year.
It was Emanuele Ricotti who edged out Carlos Dommar for the first place finish. Ricotti put on a near flawless performance to win the title. Dommar shouldn’t feel too bad about a second-place finish after all he’s already qualified for the 2022 Olympia with his win at the 2022 Optimum Classic Pro.
Even though there were only three athletes in this division, it didn’t disappoint. Ultimately it was Reshanna Boswell who took home gold and will try to improve upon her 2021 Olympia performance.
With only two competitors there was a 50/50 chance of winning the title and it proved to be Tamara Vahn who crushed it. Vahn will try to break into the top five this year after her sixth place finish in the 2021 Olympia.
Samantha Jerring owned the stage which led to her first-place finish. We’re sure Jerring is excited to be headed back to the Olympia to see if she can improve on her last performance.
Gabriella Mohamed edged out Francesca Stocio to win the division and earn her way to the Olympia. This one could’ve gone either way and we’re sure to see Stocio come back for vengeance at her next show.
The winner of this division Claudia Gabriela de León Pardo put on a great performance. At this contest last year she placed fifth showing that she’s come a long way and is determined to improve as her career goes on.
Gisele Machado is on a roll recently after coming off a win at the 2022 Miami Muscle Beach Pro show. She is poised to make a splash at the 2022 Olympia, keep an eye out for her.
