Want your perfect workout program?
Take QuizDanial Zamani just accomplished the unthinkable; the Iranian powerlifter bench pressed over 800lbs raw! This unofficial world record of 804.7lbs (365kg) was documented on Zamani’s Instagram on February 21st, 2022. Check out the almost impossible lift below.
In usual Danial Zamani fashion, the video posted to his Instagram began with some motivational slaps from his team of spotters before taking his place on the bench.
Wearing a tight one-piece, a lifting belt, and some wrist wraps, Zamani lowered the bar to his chest, let it rest for a brief second, then pushed through his feet, using the power to help lock out the lift. It seemed like there was more in the tank as the weight went up relatively easily.
The above lift was not performed in sanctioned competition so it's not an official world record. However, Zamani made clear in the caption of his post that he is interested in proving to the world that he’d like to show the world that this is possible.
He said “In close future I am willing to attempt 800 lbs in an official world-class competition. I request from all the organizers to bring the opportunity to me with respect to the breaking world record in history consideration, to provide a world class platform inviting the best athletes in the world to prove my number.”
To put Zamani’s lift into perspective, the current world record is 355kg (782.6lbs), set by Julius Maddox in 2021 at the Hybrid Showdown III. Maddox has tried and failed to hit the magical 800lbs on a few occasions over the past two years.
We’d love to see Zamani and Maddox go at it on a large platform like Giants Live or the like, to shock the world and show everyone what’s possible. If there’s an event scheduled on the horizon, we’ll make sure to update you.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
Danial Zamani might want to change his name to "Manimal" Zamani as he’s demonstrated his ability to surpass what man was thought to be capable of. After watching Zamani press over 800 pounds without a struggle, who knows how high a bar he can set. We’ll be cheering him on and would love to see him in an event similar to when Eddie Hall hit the 500kg deadlift. Let’s hope that someone jumps at the chance to organize an event that will set the record books straight!
